March 2021 Update
Welcome to the March 2021 update. On behalf of our team, thank you for your continued support. We hope you are all well and looking forward to being released from lockdown.
FORMAL COMPLAINT
Our formal complaint to Chelmsford City Council has now reached Stage II, and will be examined by Chief Executive Nick Eveleigh. We anticipate a formal response by 19/03/21. Read the complaint here.
Parking
We understand from a local resident that the signs regarding parking restrictions around the Clarion Gare development will be going back up in the next few weeks. Great news for local residents, read more here.
We have finished writing up our Parking Beat Survey, which identifies all the available parking in the roads surrounding the Hamptons. This will be of fantastic value if a planning application is finally submitted.
RIPA/Privacy COMPLAINT
The resident involved has now submitted a formal complaint against the two councillors involved. Read the full story here. We’ll update you when they receive a formal response.
End Of Year Figures
We are delighted by the response to our first year of campaigning. Our top post on Facebook had over 4,000 views and the website continues to attract over 1,000 unique visitors every month. On average the website has nearly 3,000 pageviews every month. Our Twitter account (here) has been slow, but steady with between 1,000-4,000 tweet impressions per month.
The end of year survey (results here) clearly showed your concerns, and we will take onboard many of the points it raised. Thank you to everyone that responded.
Our YouTube channel is growing (here), and we plan to produce a monthly update video, to make it easier to stay up to date. Despite this being a local issue, our videos were watched nearly 5,000 times over the last year.
And finally, our mailing list continues to grow, currently boasting an impressive 517 subscribers. It’s a great way to get the latest updates first, you can subscribe here.
GOING FORWARD
We expect this to be a challenging year for the campaign. Some dates for your diary :
Ramadan April 12/13th-12/13th May (tbc)
Eid Ul Fitr 12/13th May (tbc)
Eid Ul Adha 19th July
A lot depends on the level of pandemic restrictions still in place, but this may be the start of significant and substantial noise and disturbance caused by the use of Hamptons as a Place Of Worship. We’ll update you with any information relating to this use, as we receive it.
The team are ready to deal with whatever issues are placed before us. As the pandemic restrictions lift, we are planning to deliver newsletters to every home in Great Baddow.
STAY IN TOUCH
We love reading your comments, suggestions and feedback. Feel free to drop us an email, we’re here to listen, unlike the ward councillors.
