Just Some Refurb and A New Carpet
We really enjoyed reading the public statement issued by Ann Silk, Hamptons Manager on 03/04/21. Isn’t it strange that the statement was only posted after 2,000 leaflets were delivered to local residents, informing them of the latest developments at Hamptons.
What nasty right wing racists we are, by revealing details about developments at Hamptons, that they really didn’t want you to find out….until it was too late.
Take a look at our original source for our “unfounded literature” here.
A Lovely New Carpet In The “Community Rooms”
What could be wrong with that ? According to Ann “These are multi purpose rooms used for kids, adults, seniors used throughout the day and night AND they also get used for prayers”
Quite who would use these rooms, that you have to remove your shoes to enter, and sit on the floor is quite a mystery to us. Can you guess dear reader ?
The new carpet supplied and fitted by London Carpets and Flooring (Ilford) is in fact a Musalla carpet, used to mark out the lines of worshippers, and only found in a mosque. Here’s an image from the London Carpets website. A nice bit of hardwearing multipurpose flooring, it is not !
Some Translation Required.
Ann goes on to explain “The downstairs toiles have had a refurb with new tiling and abultion area install plus new toilet area for men”. We thinks this means “the downstairs toilets have had a refurb with new tiling and an ablution area installed, plus a new toilet area for men.
What has in fact been installed are Wudhu ritual washing facilities, only found in a mosque, with the existing urinals removed. Are you beginning to see a theme here ? New mosque facilities.
don’t make a fuss, it’s just a local service
Now Ann does seem a bit miffed about this, she’s used BLOCK CAPITALS “The biggest fuss being created is to do with a storage area for funeral services. None of which has been started UNTIL we discuss with the council this is also a local service and not a business for the community” . Yes Ann, it’s a local service that is offered at a mosque.
The cold storage of dead bodies at a family sports and leisure centre is a big deal, they don’t have it at Riverside or Dovedales !
What Ann fails to mention, is that the Ghusl facilities require 24 hour access, taking the business outside of its licenced business hours and, given the proximity of residential units, they will undoubtedly cause a degree of night-time noise.
But we guess that Hamptons will now have to discuss the Ghusl facilities with the city council, when they come to do their inspection next week.
Significant And Permanent
With the latest developments at Hamptons now being public knowledge (we consider it a public service), its hard to see how the council can still see this further expansion of the mosque facilities to fit within their previous “limited and discreet use” assessment.
And meanwhile the car park continues to be full every night
